MEET THE ARTIST

Betsy Bailey is an award-winning painter whose luminous watercolors are inspired by her intense love of the the natural world,  and her travels in South America, Italy, Spain and Ireland.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Betsy studied English and Fine Arts at Indiana University, later refining her painting skills with Zoltan Szabo and Frank Webb.  Although she has worked with oils and acrylics, “I always come back to watercolor”, she says; “it has its own mind - and that’s a constant challenge.”

Betsy’s work has been exhibited in numerous group and solo shows in the northeastern U.S.  She has done many works on commission, including murals and portraits, and she teaches watercolor painting at local art leagues.
